Step 3: Add the braising liquid

  • Braising liquid

    • beef broth
      , or water
      Enough to submerge meat
    • diced tomatoes
      1 small can
    • sauteed aromatic base
    • browned beef chunks
  • Aromatic base + spices

    • bay leaves
      1

Return the sauteed aromatic base back to the pot. Add the diced tomatoes and then add just enough beef stock (or water) to barely submerge the meat. Add the bay leaf.
