      , grated
      100 g
    • cooking oil
      a drizzle
    • salt
      a sprinkle
    • black pepper
      a sprinkle
    • chili powder
      a sprinkle
  • Burger roll & toppings

    • eggs
      2
    • american cheese
      2 slices
    • brioche bun
      1
    • ketchup
    • pickled onions
    • low-fat sour cream

Method

Step 1: Prepare the patties

Mix the meat with the salt and seasonings until they are well combined. Form into 4 equal-sized balls (2 balls per burger). Gather the remaining burger toppings and the bun.

Step 2: Cook the potatoes

Grate the potatoes and rinse them. Place the grated potatoes in a cheese cloth or a towel. Squeeze out all of the moisture that you can.

Add the potatoes, oil, and spices to a bowl and mix them together.

On a ripping hot cast iron, separate the potato mixture into two piles and place them on the grill to crisp up, flipping when needed. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Step 3: Sear & smash the patties

For the burgers, place the ball of meat on the griddle and immediately smash it with the spatula. Repeat with the remaining patties.

Let them undisturbed for about 45 seconds, then scrape and flip them over. Add a piece of cheese and place the other patty on top.

Step 4: Assemble the burgers

Lastly, soft scramble the eggs to your desired consistency.

Assemble the burger with the bun, sauces, hash browns, eggs, and any other toppings you would like. Enjoy.
